Kestrels

Roman Day was great fun especially meeting the army dogs! We also made pizza dough which we later turned into 'Roman' pizzas to take home!

Art and DT - Roman frescos! We created Roman Fresco art by painting with water colours on wet plaster just like the Ancient Romans did!

The children used a technique called lino printing to create prints of shield designs. It involved designing, tracing and printing with inks.

Forest School - This term we have had lots of fun with our Forest School activities! Since the area had its tidy up at half term, the children have been able to explore more and use lots more of the area!

Great science work with magnets - we made cars and made them move using magnets by attracting and repelling forces

Term 6  Romans!

Welcome to Term 6 and our last term together as Kestrels! We have lots of fantastic things planned and we know we are going to learn a lot and have great fun!

Take a look at the overview attached for full details of the exciting learning planned.

We will be having a theme day too and more details will follow!

We are welcoming a new staff member Mr Tillen who will be working with us full time. He has been in already and the children all enjoyed working with him and he loved being in the class too!

We are looking forward to a sunny, happy term! Please remember to come to school prepared for the weather - sun hat, water bottles and sun cream applied!

Woolly Mammoths Kestrel Class Style! Lots of great concentration and artistic skill!

Flag Fenn - What a brilliant trip we had! Take a look at our photos. We made pots, checked out the round house and discovered lots of artefacts from the Stone, Bronze and Iron Age!

Term 5!

This term is going well and we have been very busy with our topic work! Take a look at some of the pictures of our excellent learning!

We have a trip coming up and a letter will be sent out this week - look out for the parent mail!

Please sign up for the parents evening slots!

Forest School - We created wattle and daub walls using sticks and mud with straw. Great fun, very messy and a great job done!

We created windchimes and suncatchers during our forest school session! The children all worked hard and created individual pieces to decorate the woodland area!

Friction - We experimented with jelly cubes and chopsticks! We looked at friction and how easy it was to pick up the cubes with chopsticks because the surface was sticky however when we covered the jelly in oil the friction was reduced and what a challenge it was! Quite messy too!

Friction experiment number 2! We used ramps with different surfaces to see which surface had the greatest friction. The children worked hard to ensure the testing was fair. We also made predictions and then recorded our test results! Great work from everyone!

Kestrel Class have been amazing this term and I am so proud of you all! Have a fabulous Easter and enjoy a rest! Watch yourselves singing - you did a fab job so tell everyone you know to take a look too!

Remember the grow your buddy homework and keep reading this Easter!

See you in Term 5!
